Fees/payments

Harbourtown Dental offers a competitive pricing structure.

We endeavour to make our services as affordable and accessible as possible. As Northern Gold Coast premier dental care provider, we know how important it is that our services are affordable and accessible.

Compared to the National Dental Fees Survey conducted by the Australian Dental Association (ADA), the Harbourtown Dental fee structure is lower or equal to the median fee given in the survey. We do not cut our costs by reducing the time spent with clients, or use cheaper/inferior materials, or compromise our infection control protocols. Only the premier local dental laboratories are utilised.

Before commencing any work, our dentist will discuss the treatment options available and costs with you. A treatment plan to suit your needs will be created and a written estimate or quotation provided for any major dental work.

Lowering the cost of dental care

The best way to lower the cost of dental care is to prevent dental decay and gum disease through maintaining good oral hygiene, including brushing and flossing. Regular check-ups and early intervention are a relatively inexpensive way to avoid potentially higher costs in the future.

Payment for treatment is required on the day of your appointment, unless prior arrangements have been made.

Harbourtown Dental offers a selection of financial options. For the convenience these can be made via cash, credit card/eftpos or extended payment plans.

HICAPS

We utilise the HICAPS medical benefit system. HICAPS is an electronic, real time, claims and payments system, which offers the convenience of automatic claims processing, on the spot in the practice.

Major Health Fund

Harbourtown Dental has relationships with all of the major health funds which allows private health insurance patients with extras or ancillary cover to gain benefits. Some private health insurance companies even offer ‘no-gap’ dental benefits. Harbourtown Dental recommends that patients check with their health funds as to what benefits they are entitled to prior to making an appointment.

Harbourtown Dental is proud to be the Member’s Choice Dental Service Provider for HCF.

This means that members with HCF can receive NO (i.e. No out-of-pocket) payment for Dental Check-ups (including Full Dental Consultation, Examination, Scale & Clean, X-rays and Fluoride Treatment).

Medicare

The Child Dental Benefits Schedule, or CDBS, is an Australian Government initiative that will provide approximately $2.7 billion in Commonwealth funded benefits for general dental service for children aged 0-17 years of age.

The government has provided itemised codes for treatments that are covered by the CDBS. These treatments include basic dental services, such as check-ups, x-rays, fillings and extractions. Services that are classified as high-end, such as orthodontic treatment, will not be covered by the CDBS.

The total benefit is capped at $1095.00 per child over a period of two years, with eligibility to be determined each year.

Contact Harbourtown dental to see if your child is eligible.
